CET to be conducted by NTA from next academic session
The examination for UG, PG courses will be conducted by NTA from 2022
CET(Common Entrance Test) for admission to UG, PG courses in central universities will be conducted by NTA from the next academic session. This was informed by UGC in its letter to VCs of all Central Universities. It was also informed that NET scores shall be used for PhD admissions.
The NEP(National Education Policy) had recommended CET for all universities by NTA which will help in a high-quality test along with specialized exams in various subjects in higher educational institutes. A committee was formed to discuss this and a meeting was also held with VCs of all CUs to discuss recommendations made by the committee.
“Accordingly, all central universities are advised to take appropriate measures for the Common Entrance Test from the academic session 2022-23. These tests would be conducted in minimum 13 languages in which NTA is already conducting JEE & NEET examinations”, official letter by UGC.
