University of Kerala will be introducing nine new courses that will aid in development of science and technology sector. It has been decided in the senate meeting at the university to introduce departments in Communication Science and Electronics, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Data Science, Functional Organic Materials, Oceanography and Blue Economy, Renewable Energy, Integrative Biology , Atmospheric Science and Design. These departments will offer both PG & PhD programmes. Course in AI and robotics will focus into computer vision, machine learning as well as robotic development. Communication Science and Electronics department will help in promoting research and study in nanotechnology, signal and image processing etc. Research will be redefined to suit community needs which will boost research and entrepreneurship .
