CBSE to launch ‘reading mission’ today.

On September 20, 2021, the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, will launch a new initiative.

This initiative is titled ‘The CBSE Reading Mission 2021-23,’ and it will be unveiled at 3 p.m.

The CBSE Reading Mission will last two years, from 2021 to 2023.

CBSE Reading Mission is a collaboration between Pratham Books’ Story Weaver and the Central Square Foundation.

Motive – This two-year initiative aims to improve students’ reading abilities, with a primary focus on students in grades 1–8. Furthermore, the reading exercise will encourage students to read books and improve their critical thinking skills.

To make reading more accessible, this initiative will provide quality reading material in both Hindi and English to all schools. The reading material will be appropriate for students in Classes 1 through 8.

According to reports, after its official launch today, this initiative will be implemented in over 25,000 CBSE schools.

It will go live at 3 p.m. Stakeholders can watch the live webcast on YouTube, and more information will be available on cbse.gov.in.

Manoj Ahuja, the Chairman of CBSE, will lead the launch. It will then be followed by a webinar for teachers to help them better understand the reading culture in schools.
