The survey conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council(GMAC) on application trends in 2021 found that the volume of applications for graduate business school programs increased 0.4% from the year before amidst the pandemic and business schools worldwide witnessed a hike in applications.

The survey also showed that there is a hike in applications from India. This is mainly due to the friendly visa policies, two -year work visa as well as eased travel restrictions. It was also seen an increase in the number of female applicants for MBA programs. Full -time MBA programs are more favored by students rather than one- year MBA programs.

“Candidates looked for alternative career options during the COVID-19 induced recession and B-schools introduced more flexible admission policies, resulting in soaring application volumes last year.”, said Sangeeth Chowfla, President and CEO of GAMC.
